I completed my City and Guilds diploma in embroidery in 2014, with my special subject being Remenbrance. My pieces include a quilt, a scroll, a machine embroidered bowl and a vase wrap with giant poppies. My background though was quilting which I am returning to. I made an applique banner for the Processions march in Edinburgh in June, and a Remembrance banner for our tiny local church for the Rmembrance beacon event in November. I love to use digital printing in my work, and look forward to celebrating women of WW1 in my next work, which I hope will then lead onto women’s suffrage, and our place in the world today.
